El Dr. Alfredo Sánchez es investigador adscrito al Laboratorio Nacional de Informática Avanzada (LANIA). Obtuvo los grados de maestría y doctorado en ciencias de la computación en Texas A&M University, y de ingeniería en sistemas computacionales en la Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP). Sus intereses de investigación y docencia se ubican en las áreas de Interacción Humano-Computadora (IHC), experiencia de usuario y tecnologías asistivas, dentro de las cuales ha diseñado e impartido cursos, y ha realizado proyectos de investigación y desarrollo. Sus logros se han reportado en más de 150 publicaciones arbitradas y se han traducido en servicios innovadores para amplias comunidades de usuarios. De 1996 a 2017 fue profesor de computación en la Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), donde fundó y coordinó el Laboratorio de Tecnologías Interactivas y Cooperativas (ICT). Actualmente es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores de México, y miembro del consejo editorial del International Journal of Digital Libraries y del Journal of Internet Services and Applications. Ha sido investigador visitante en el Instituto para Ciudades Inteligentes de la Universidad de Shanghai (China), profesor visitante en la Universidad de Waikato (Nueva Zelanda), investigador visitante en el Centro de Informática Botánica del Jardín Botánico de Missouri (Estados Unidos) y presidente de la Sociedad Mexicana de Ciencia de la Computación. También fundó y coordinó la Comunidad CUDI de Interacción Humano-Computadora y la Comunidad Latinoamericana de IHC. Es co-fundador de la Asociación Mexicana de IHC (AMexIHC) y ha sido vice-presidente del Capítulo México (CHI-México) del Grupo de Interés Especial en IHC (SIGCHI) de ACM.

Alfredo Sánchez is an adjunct researcher at the National Laboratory of Advanced Informatics (LANIA). He holds MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science from Texas A&M University, and a BEng degree from Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP). A member of Mexico’s National Researchers System, his research interests lie in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience and assistive technologies, within which he has designed and taught courses, as well as conducted research projects. From 1996 to 2017 he was a professor of computer science ar UDLAP, where he founded and directed the Laboratory of Interactive and Cooperative Technologies (ICT).He has been a visiting professor at the University of Waikato, New Zealand, visiting scientist at the Center for Botanical Informatics of the Missouri Botanical Garden, and visiting scholar at Shanghai University's Institute of Smart Cities. Prof. Sánchez serves at the editorial board of the Journal of Internet Services and Applications as well as the International Journal of Digital Libraries. He was founding Chair the Latin American Community of Human-Computer Interaction under ACM's SIGCHI, and co-founder of the Latin American Conference Series on Human-Computer Interaction (CLIHC). He also has served as president of the Mexican Computer Science Society and is a co-founder of the Mexican Association of Human-Computer Interaction (AMexIHC).
